Wondering how to take that quarantine pony to the next level? Ready to spice up that messy bun? Looking for a way to give yourself that summertime flare?
We’ve got you covered (literally and figuratively).
Bandanas have made a come back in a big way this summer and we are ready to dive head first into this trend. They are simple and easy - with just enough oomf to spice up any summer look. Who’s ready to BAND(ana) together with us and start rocking this summertime trend? Let’s do this!
AROUND A PONYTAIL
Sometimes your pony needs a pick-me-up and a bandana is the perfect solution. We love to add a folded bandana around a mid to low pony for some extra oomf.
HOW TO…
1. Add some texture to your hair with a few curls and some Davines Dry Texturizer
2. Put your hair up in a mid to low pony
3. Pull some face framing strands down to make the look less structured and more casual
4. Tie the folded bandana around your pony. We recommend double tying the bandana for a secure hold that is less limp looking
IN YOUR MESSY BUN
Messy buns are life, especially in the age of social distancing and Covid19. With so much effort being needed for everything else, it can be hard to give your energy to your hair (trust us, we get it). And that is what makes a messy bun so perfect. It is quick, easy, and effortless. PLUS when you throw a bandana into the mix this style looks like a well thought out style for little to no effort at all.
HOW TO…
1. Gather your hair on top of your head like a pony-tail
2. Twist the hair into a collected piece
3. Circle the hair around the base of the gathered pony and secure into place with a tight ponytail holder over the top
4. Pull some face framing strands down to make the look less structured and more casual and mess with the bun to get it to your desired size and look
5. Take a folded bandana and wrap it around the base of the bun then tie it twice in the back
6. Spray into place with the Davines medium hold hairspray
HALF BACK WITH A TWIST
Your hair doesn’t have to be up to rock a bandana either! We love adding a bandana to a half up style to spice things up.
HOW TO…
1. Add some texture to your hair with a few curls
2. Run some Oi Oil through your hair mids to ends to eliminate any frizz
3. Pull back the top half of your hair – leaving a few face framing pieces out at the front
4. Secure the pulled back section with a hair tie
5. Using your pointer fingers, stick them through the hair that is secured in the hair tie making a hole in the middle
6. Flip the hair tie and the hair that is hanging down through the hole (this creates the “twist”)
7. Take a folded bandana and circle it around the hanging hair twice then double knot it in place.
AS A HEADBAND
This one takes us back. Adding a bandana as a headband has always been a staple. Come on you know the moment you read it you pictured Rosie the Riveter and all of her perfection rocking that red bandana.
And while we do love her look – we had to change a few things about this style to give it a 2020 feel!
HOW TO…
1. Add some texture to your hair with a few curls and some Davines Dry Texturizer
2. Run some Oi Oil through your hair mids to ends to eliminate any frizz
3. Put your hair in a low ponytail in the back – leaving out some hair on both sided of the front of your head
4. Take a folded bandana and place it on the crown of your head at the back of the two left out sections then pull it to the back of your head and tie it under the ponytail.
5. Take out the pony tail and add fluff the hair to the way you want it
