It’s a fact, everyone feels better with a little tan! No matter your plans, a light glow can take any day from good to great. Spray tans are the perfect way to get a flawless tan that is safe and trusted! And that’s not the only reason we love them. Here’s everything you need to know about our very favorite thing - SPRAY TANS!
HOW DO THEY WORK?
Spray tans at Pure are performed by one of our estheticians.
The service begins with a quick chat with your service provider about your desired tan results. Things like - how dark would you like it to be, are you getting this for a special event (if so what will you be wearing), do you have any areas you would like to have extra focus, etc. are discussed.
After the consultation your service provider will leave you in the spray tan room to get undressed to your comfort level. Some guests choose to wear shorts and a tank top, others bra and undies, some wear a swimsuit, and others choose to be completely nude. The choice is yours!
Once you are undressed your service provider will come back into the room and perform your spray tan. They will have mixed a custom color just for you while you changed and will spray you down - customizing the tan completely to you!
After you are tanned, your service provider will dust you down with a special powder. This helps to set your tan and make it so there is no sticky areas that transfer onto your clothes. Once that is done the service provider will leave and you are all set!
HOW LONG DOES A SPRAY TAN LAST?
The average spray tan lasts between 2 and 4 days BUT spray tans from PURE last between 4 and 6 days!
A big concern for spray tans is that as they fade they can get blotchy. We feel that our spray tans fade naturally.But we do recommend that guests exfoliate lightly during your normal washing routine, apply moisturizer to the skin after washing, and touch up as needed with one of our take home self tanners. These come in a spray form and foam form and are great for quick touch ups.
WILL IT MAKE MY SKIN ORANGE?
No! Some spray tans do come with an orange undertone but ours do not. Your service provider will make sure to mix the perfect shade for you so that it is not too dark or too light!
WHAT IS DIFFERENT ABOUT SPRAY TANS AT PURE?
THE SMELL - We have a custom scent blend for our tans so they don’t smell like the regular artificial tan
THE FEEL - Our spray tans actually spray warm! This helps not only with comfort but also with the pigmentation of the tan.
THE APPLICATION - Because our service providers are personally applying your tan it is customized to what your skin specifically needs.
THE COLOR - As we mentioned before, our tans do not have an orange undertone to them. Instead they leave you with a perfect bronze.
THE ACCELERATION - We do offer a tanning accelerator with our tans so that you can wash it off the same day and be ready to party!

EXFOLIATE your skin before you come for your appointment
DO NOT apply lotion all over your skin before you come for your tan
WEAR or bring loose fitting clothing to get after your spray tan
USE our barrier cream here at the salon to keep you from getting too dark in certain places
